Pet Dog Training
Trusted Canine Companions offers standard pet dog training in the form of one-to-one training and group training sessions at The Moon and Pack Dog Centre on Thursday Evenings.
Training sessions are tailored to your dog's needs, however please see some examples of training that can be done during your session:
- Basic obedience (sit, down, stay)
- Toilet training, puppy chewing, jumping up
- Settle
- Neutrality in public dog friendly spaces
- Recall
- Lead walking

- Fears
- Dog and human interactions

Assistance Dog Training
Rachel has extensive experience training assistance dogs from beginner level to public access standard.
Rachel can help train a variety of different behaviours, some are listed below:
- Deep and light pressure therapy
- Leading to an exit
- Item retrieval
- Opening and closing doors
- Alerting to anxiety
- Creating space techniques
Rachel provides flexible sessions to suit your needs, with the option for Rachel to work directly with your dog if needed.
Rachel asks all clients to have 3rd party public liability insurance for their assistance dog and will ask for evidence of this.

Therapy Dog Training
Trusted Canine Companions offers training to prospective or current therapy dogs.
Rachel carries out an initial assessment and carries out training in schools. She will make sure the dog is school safe and give advice on risk assessments and insurance.
Training can include, but is not limited to:
- General Obedience
- Light and deep pressure therapy
- Trick Training
- Lesson ideas
- ‘Find it’ and scent training
One Session - £50
Wedding/Dog Chaperone
Trusted Canine Companions offers a wedding chaperone service. Many people would like their dog present on the day of the wedding but have no one to look after their dog.
Rachel offers a bespoke service so that your dog can be present for the most important moments of your wedding day.
This service includes looking after your dog during your wedding day, making sure they are present for key moments, walking them when needed and taking them home afterwards.
Please enquire for prices. Each prices package is bespoke.
Therapy Dogs in the Home
Is your child home schooled? Or your child finds it difficult to get to school?
Trusted Canine Companions offers a unique opportunity to work with children and dogs in the home environment. This can be using the family pet dog or with Bonnie.
The session will be catered to the child’s needs but can include:
- Learning to train a dog. The child will learn how to train a dog and some basic behaviours
- Giving the child knowledge on general dog care, grooming, nutrition, enrichment needs and the differences between breeds
- Teaching the child how to read dog body language and how to know when a dog is happy or scared
- Going on a sensory dog walk
- Teaching the dog behaviours to support mental health such as deep pressure therapy or chin rest
- Creating enrichment toys/puzzles for the dog to enjoy
If using the family dog, Rachel will need to assess and meet the dog first. The first session will include a chat to make sure that Rachel can cater to the child’s individual needs.

Overcoming Fear of Dogs
Trusted Canine Companions offers sessions to help children, young people and adults to overcome a fear of dogs. These sessions are done in conjunction with Bonnie, the Labrador.
Trusted Canine Companions never judge anyone and are here to listen and work with your fear. We give insight into dog body language to help you understand dogs more comprehensively and to know what dogs are telling us.
All sessions are tailored to the age of the client. All children and young people get a small soft toy replica of Bonnie.
A phone consultation is required before sessions to make sure that Trusted Canine Companions are working within their professional limits.
Three sessions - £130
Dog Walking
Trusted Canine Companions offers a dog walking service to dogs who would struggle going with regular dog walkers or into doggy day care or dogs who require training on lead walking or recall. Rachel assesses each dog and offers training as part of the walk.
55 minute standard dog walk - £20

Pet Sitting
Trusted Canine Companions offer a pet sitting service while you are on a week's holiday or just away for the night.
A 30 minute session can include:
- Feeding and filling up water bowls
- Cleaning out a litter tray
- Playing or fussing
- Grooming
- Giving medicines
